Minnie Stevens Piper Award
The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation has notified us that it will again honor professors for "dedication to the teaching profession" as well as "outstanding academic, scientific, and scholarly achievement." The Foundation will award certificates naming each of the honored professors as a "Piper Professor of 1998." As in the past, these awards are intended to provide increased recognition to teaching excellence, although the Foundation's Selection Committee will also consider factors such as research, publication, and related activity.
