Registration advising information for summer and fall is now available!
There are several offices within the School that work together to provide the engineering student with academic advising services. It is to the engineering student's advantage, as well as his or her responsibility, to be aware of and access the academic advising services offered by the various offices. Students are able to seek advice from faculty, departmental advisors, and Office of Student Affairs advisors.
Faculty Advising
Faculty members are a valuable academic advising resource for students. Most faculty are willing to meet with students throughout the academic year to discuss any of the areas listed below. The student should identify a faculty member in the engineering area of interest by consulting upper division students, the department undergraduate office and the department chair's office or by perusing the Faculty Bios website, which lists faculty members' areas of expertise. The student should then make an appointment to meet the faculty member during his or her office hours. This type of advising should be done several weeks in advance of the University advising period.
Faculty members can provide advising in the following areas:

The Cockrell School of Engineering, in collaboration with the Office of Residence Life, has created two academic community centers in Jester and Kinsolving Residence Halls. The goal of the centers is to create a supportive student environment for advising and learning in order to enhance academic success. The Jester and Kinsolving offices are staffed by professional academic advisors from the Office of Student Affairs. Quality academic support is offered with free small group and individual tutoring on a nightly basis in Jester and Kinsolving.
