Summer School in Grenoble, France
2004

This six-week summer program at the University of Grenoble was a life changing experience for many of the students who participated. They benefited from the cross-cultural interaction with their French counterparts as well as having their Engineering classes taught by a UT Professor. Summer School in London, England
2005

A six-week summer program at the University College of London (UCL) will be offered during the summer of 2005. The program consists of two courses: ME379M International Engineering: Practice and Professionalism in the 21st Century taught by Mr. Ted Aanstoos and a social science course taught by a UCL faculty member. ME379M is accepted as a technical elective in most engineering departments. Check with undergraduate advisor in individual department for verification. Students will live on-campus at dormitories. Classes meet Monday-Thursday. Students pay a program fee, tuition and fees for one 3-hour course in the summer, travel costs, and meals. Program fee includes housing and instructional costs for second course. Open to upper division engineering students admitted to major sequence with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Application deadline is February 1st; Program dates are June 13 - July 23. Estimated program fee is $3000. Financial aid is available. Summer School in Toulouse, France
2005

A six-week summer program at the The Institut National des Sciences Appliques de Toulouse (INSA-Toulouse) will be offered during the summer of 2005. The program will consist of two courses: ME379M Engineering Standards and Industrial Policy in a Global Environment taught by Dr. Janet Ellzey and a French class for beginners. ME379M is accepted as a technical elective in most engineering departments. Check with undergraduate advisor in individual department for verification. Students will live on-campus in dormitories. Classes meet Monday-Thursday. Students pay a program fee, tuition and fees for one 3-hour course in the summer, travel costs, and meals. Program fee includes housing and instructional costs for second course, insurance, and International SOS. Open to upper division engineering students admitted to major sequence with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Application deadline is February 1st; Program dates are June 1 - July 9. Estimated program fee is $2500. Financial aid is available. If you are interested in this program, please fill out a Pre-Application for the Summer School Program. Your application will be screened and you will be informed when you can apply to the program.

Spring Semester in Toulouse, France
2006

The Institut National des Sciences Appliques de Toulouse (INSA-Toulouse) is organizing a spring semester in English for engineering students. Four courses at the junior level in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will be offered. Students will pay UT tuition and fees for equivalent courses and live on-campus in dormitories.

Spring or Fall Semester in Monterrey, Mexico for ME Students
2005-2006

Students can particpate in a fall or spring semester at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. The program will consist of five courses. The student chooses three technical courses from an approved list and takes one Spanish language course (at any level) and one Mexican history/culture course. All courses except the Spanish language course will be taught in English. Students will pay UT tuition and fees for equivalent courses and live on-campus in dormitories.

Spring or Fall Semester in Singapore for ME Students
2005-2006

Students can particpate in a fall or spring semester at National University of Singapore in Singapore. The program will consist of five courses. The student chooses three technical courses from an approved list and takes one language course (at any level) and; one history/culture course. All courses except the language course will be taught in English. Students will pay UT tuition and fees for equivalent courses and live on-campus in dormitories.

Center for Global Education Office

Students who are interested in studying abroad in countries that the IEE does not have programs with can still go abroad. You will have to go through the Center for Global Education Office (CGEO) to go abroad. If you would like to take engineering credit, you are responsible for working with your faculty advisor. CGEO offers programs for a semester, maymester, summer or year.>>

Planet Longhorn

If you are interested in getting involved before you go abroad, or after you return, you can participate in Planet Longhorn. Planet Longhorn is a student organization that was started by engineering students who had been abroad and wanted exchange students here at UT to have an opportunity to meet local students.>>
