Undergraduate Support

Support for engineering undergraduates encompasses several programs targeting first year engineering students. WEP and EOE are conducting a special undergraduate mentoring program for Mechanical Engineering minority and female students. Upper-division peers are serving as mentors and communicate with first year students on a regular basis via meetings, email, and phone calls to provide guidance and assistance to ease the transition into a four-year engineering program.

WEP and EOE are also hosting design competitions for first year students. Finally, a series of skills development workshops is available to first year students so they will be prepared to succeed at UT.
