Founder of Energy Eagles

Shahid Ullah is the founder of Energy Eagles, an advisory and oil and gas investment firm in Houston. With more than 32 years of experience in the international energy sector, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, exploration and production, and the service sector, Ullah has held senior management positions with many multinational companies in the United States and Europe.

Ullah holds a degree in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and received executive development training at the University of Oxford and London Business School. He is a member of the UT Engineering Advisory Board and is currently facilitating international academic cooperation between UT Austin and the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani.

Ullah's passion for and belief in philanthropy includes the establishment by the University of Texas Board of Regents of The Shahid and Sharon Ullah Excellence Fund in International Engineering Education in 2006, as well as The Afren Management Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Engineering in 2011. Many other entities have also benefited from his support, including the university's College of Liberal Arts, Department of Theatre and Dance, the Longhorn Foundation, the Department of Human Ecology, Interfaith of The Woodlands, Teach for America, and company sponsorship of Projects for Underserved Communities in Ghana, as well as the Longhorn Challenge for Developing Communities.

The “hook ‘em” passion is avid throughout the Ullah family. Shahid's wife Sharon is a UT Austin graduate with a degree from the College of Natural Sciences. Their son Zachary is graduating from the university with a B.S. in engineering and Plan II Honors and their daughter Lorena graduated from the university in 2014 with a degree in education.
