Stephen T. Winn is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of RealPage Inc., a publicly traded technology company that has become the leading global provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry.

Winn received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and his master’s degree in management from Stanford University.

Prior to RealPage, Winn served in various executive positions, including president of the Research Institute of America, a provider of information services to the accounting industry and a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomson Reuters Corporation. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Computer Language Research Inc., a publicly traded company focused on tax compliance, tax research and accounting software that was acquired by Thomson Reuters Corporation.

Winn was one of five people recognized by the National Apartment Association (NAA) as a leader in the multifamily industry, and he is an active member of the NAA and the National Multifamily Housing Council. Winn has also been recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today, and, in June 2012, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the Southwest Area North region by Ernst & Young.

Dedicated to service and volunteerism, Winn established the Winn Family Foundation to better serve the needs of a diverse range of communities, causes and educational curricula, including the support of research and development in the foundational sciences. Most recently, the foundation contributed to the creation of the Winn Software Lab inside the Cockrell School of Engineering’s new Engineering Education and Research Center. Along with other partners of UT Austin’s College of Natural Sciences, the foundation also provided funding for the construction of the Giant Magellan Telescope.

Winn and his wife, Melinda, live in Dallas, and they have three children, Natalie, Chris and Heather.
