As an undergraduate student in electrical and computer engineering, Blake Battaglia was a member of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies.

In 1998, Blake joined ABRY Partners, one of the most experienced and successful media-focused private equity funds in North America with over $2.8 billion of total equity capital under management.  During his nine-year career at ABRY, Blake has worked extensively in sourcing, structuring, financing and monitoring numerous investments in a variety of media and communications sub-sectors including broadcast television, cable television, broadband communications and outsourced business services.

Blake currently serves (or has served) as a director of Nexstar Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: NXST), Atlantic Broadband, WideOpenWest, Hometown Broadband and Cast & Crew Entertainment.

Before joining ABRY, he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley & Company in New York City.  At Morgan Stanley his responsibilities included advising public and private real estate clients on acquisitions, divestitures and capitalization strategies. He was involved in a variety of real estate transactions including the acquisition of the Woodlands Corporation by the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund II, L.P. (MSREF) and Crescent Real Estate Equities.

Battaglia plays an active role in consulting Drewry Communications, a family-owned media company based in Oklahoma which was founded by his grandfather in the 1950s.  Drewry Communications owns and operates television stations throughout Texas and Oklahoma as well as the cable television system serving Lawton, Oklahoma.

Battaglia has been a member of the universitys Engineering Advisory Board since 2006. He is also a member of the Chancellors Council and the Littlefield Society, and he and his wife are contributors to The University of Texas through a Presidents Associate Endowment and Friends of Alec.  He is married to Tyler, a graduate of Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina. They have one child, Kate, 2.
