BME Advising Procedures Prior to Registration for Spring 2009

Freshmen and New Transfers | 2010 Graduates | 2009 Graduates | Not Graduating in 2009 or 2010

Registration begins on October 27 and continues through November 7, 2008. Course schedules may be found at: http://registrar.utexas.edu/schedules/092/index.html .

Freshmen and New Transfers

Between October 8 and 29, everyone who is new this year in BME must complete the steps below before your registration bar will be lifted. There will be no exceptions.

• Choose a faculty advisor, meet with your advisor, and have him/her sign the blue Advising Bar Release form which can be picked up in the Advising Office, BME 3.308. Students must also bring a resume to their faculty appointment.
• Make a private advising appointment with Jeff or Cindy.

Faculty Advisor meetings and appointments with Jeff or Cindy are made online at https://www.engr.utexas.edu/scheduler.

All new students are also advised to a meet with a BME Peer Advisor during the weeks leading up to registration. BME students from Beta Mu Epsilon, the BME Honors Organization, will be providing peer advising in BME 3.308AC, the office next to Jeff’s.

• Weekly hours for Peer Advising beginning Monday, October 13 are:

Monday	BME 3.308AC	1pm-4pm
Tuesday	BME 3.308AC	10am-7pm
Wednesday	BME 3.308AC	1:30pm-4:30pm
Thursday	BME 3.308AC	11am-4pm

2010 Graduates

Everyone planning on completing BME 370, 371 Senior Design during the 2009-2010 academic year, graduating in 2010, must:

• Meet with a faculty advisor. These appointments will be available between October 8 th and 29 th and can be scheduled through the online appointment book at https://www.engr.utexas.edu/scheduler . Students must bring a resume and have a blue Advising Bar form signed by their chosen faculty advisor.
• Attend one of the following Group Advising sessions , which do not require an appointment or reservation:

Private advising appointments with Jeff or Cindy can be made only afteryou have attended a Group Advising session above. You are also advised to meet with a BME Peer Advisor during the hours listed above in BME 3.308AC.

All BMEs Not Graduating in 2009 or 2010

All other BME students must:

• Attend one of the Group Advising sessions listed above.
  
  You may also choose a faculty advisor by visiting the online appointment book at https://www.engr.utexas.edu/scheduler, however this is not mandatory.
  
  Private advising appointments with Jeff or Cindy will be available only afteryou have attended a Group Advising session above. You are also advised to meet with a BME Peer Advisor during the hours listed above in BME 3.308AC.

2009 Graduates

No Advising is required for you! Congratulations!!
