Journal Questions:

1. Based on what you know at this point what are your expectations for your experience in this program? What anxieties seem most prevalent? Do you have any concerns about what you need to know or do? What are you looking forward to the most?

2. The first weeks were filled with many new things. What seems to be most challenging to manage? What do you find most interesting? How have your experiences in the anatomy lab affected your views on medical research? What skills do you think you will need to develop to successfully contribute in this program?

3. Often, biomedical researchers and clinicians have to make choices that are tough. What choices have you observed in your experience? How have your experiences influenced your thinking? Identify one choice you observed this week and its results. Was it the right choice in your opinion? Why or why not?

4. What do you find most frustrating in this experience? If you were to organize this program, how would you do it differently? How can valuable experiences be maximized and stressors minimized in your opinion? What has been the most valuable experience so far?

5. Explain how this internship has given you insight. Did you have an epiphany during a sequence that enlightened your thinking? How have your thoughts been influenced by what you have experienced in the last 9 weeks? What is your perception of research that involves human subjects?
