The University of Texas at Austin is seeking highly qualified tenure track faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the assistant professor level.
The University of Texas Department of Biomedical Engineering is a joint venture among the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. It was established as a joint department spanning the three institutions on Sept. 1, 2006. This multi-institutional effort combines the strength of one of the nation's largest research universities with one of the top cancer research centers and a premier medical school. This new department fosters an environment unique to the Biomedical Engineering community and excels in both fundamental research and its translation to clinical applications.
Qualified candidates working in the area of biomaterials are encouraged to apply. Required qualifications include a doctorate in engineering or a related field. Applicants must have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, a strong interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching in biomedical engineering and a commitment to professional service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty in the interinstitutional BME department, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
