Recent Faculty Awards: Bonnecaze
Roger Bonnecaze selected to receive the 2006 University Coop Researh Excellence Award for Best Research Paper of the Univeristy. Roger has been selected to receive the 2006 University Coop Research Excellence Award for Best Research Paper of the University (see award description below). Roger is recognized for his contribution coauthored with Shravanthi Reddy and entitled “Simulation of Fluid Flow in the Step and Flash Print Lithography Process ,” (published in Microelectr. Engn., 82, 60-70 (2005)). As indicated in the nomination document, this paper describes breakthrough research on understanding of the fluid mechanics of micro- and nanodevices. It has the potential for leading to a huge improvement in the development pf 3-D devices. This research demonstrates that it is possible to create commercial microfluidic devices and overcome a number of flow problems associated with the micro- and nanoscale aspects of the flow behavior.
Roger will be recognized at the 10th Annual Hamilton Awards reception and dinner that will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. This is the third chemical engineering faculty member to receive this award in the past four years.
Please note that last month Shravanthi Reddy, a PhD student in our Department, received the George Kozmetsky Award for Outstanding Graduate Research in Nanotechnology for the same research.
