Roden Leadership Program

Student group that aims to cultivate engineering leaders.

The Chair initiated the Roden Leadership Program to recruit and retain students with strong potential and interest in leadership.  Initiated with a gift from Mr. Ted Roden (B.S.Ch.E. '43), the Roden Leadership Program will identify promising high school students and recruit them for study in engineering at UT-Austin.  Designated students will receive additional education and travel opportunities as part of the program.

The Roden Leadership Program Missions Statement is as follows:

To develop leaders that make a positive impact on the world around them.

To achieve this, the Roden Leadership Program commits to:

  1. Develop the skills necessary to address real world problems.

  2. Stimulate creativity and new perspectives to promote innovative contributions to society.

  3. Provide experiences and resources that will enable scholars to initiate and drive changes.

  4. Emphasize the importance of promoting leadership in others; and

  5. Ensure that Roden Scholars place integrity at the forefront of all their actions.
