WRW 413 Multimedia Desk/Podium
The multimedia desk/podium in WRW 413 is designed to project these main source inputs:
- CPU (with CD/DVD and USB flash drive cable), Laptop and Document Camera (Doc Cam). An auxiliary VCR can also be connected to the system for viewing.
- The projector is powered on/off with a square button located at the top right corner of the desk.
- Switching between video sources is done with three buttons labeled as PROJECTOR SOURCES.
- The desk/podium is also designed to raise up or down The switches are located on the right hand side of the keyboard drawer.
Getting Started...Turning On the Projector
- Press the PROJECTOR ON button (top right corner of console).The projector will take 30 seconds to warm up. When you see a solid blue screen, the projector is ready for use.
- The UP/DOWN switch for the video screen is located in the corner of the room, just right of the chalkboard.
Hooking Up a Laptop
A laptop bundle VGA is located inside a black CABLE CUBBY (top left side of desk). The laptop bundle consists of: LAPTOP VGA, LAPTOP AUDIO, LAPTOP ETHERNET, and USB FLASH DRIVE cable,
- Locate the LAPTOP VGA (15pin) cable and firmly plug it to your laptop VGA port (rear of laptop).
- At the PROJECTOR MODE buttons, press COMPUTER to make sure the projector is receiving the correct laptop (source) signal.
- Next, press one of the PROJECTOR SOURCE buttons labeled LAPTOP (located at the top right corner of the desk.
- If you see a blank screen or blue screen with the 'No-Input' message then you may need to press the function key on your laptop keyboard that lets you display on an external monitor. Try holding down the Fn and F8 key (or on some laptops F7) simultaneously to send the signal to the projector. Using this key combination lets you toggle between the LCD screen and the projector or display on both screens at the same time. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after changing the setting.
- Make sure your laptop display settings are at 1024 x 768 to match the projector specifications. High laptop resolution settings may result in image distortions (images that are compressed, stretched, partially cut or don't fill the display area)
- Optional--Plug in the LAPTOP AUIDO cable to send sound to the projector. Adjust levels with the NEC remote control.
Using the CPU (inside the desk/podium)
- Logon to the CPU. The computer should remain powered on at all times.
- At the PROJECTOR MODE buttons, press COMPUTER to make sure the projector is receiving the correct computer (source) signal.
- Next, press one of the PROJECTOR SOURCE buttons labeled COMPUTER located at the top right corner of the desk.
- Optional--The DVD/CD external drive is located above the keyboard drawer (left side).
- Optional--Use the USB FLASH DRIVE cable (inside the cable cubby) if you wish to plug in a USB thumb drive.
Using the WolfVision VZ-9 Document Camera
- Locate the blue 'pull-pad' on the folded arm of the doc cam (right hand side). The doc cam should be in stand-by mode...with the lamp off.
- Pull the arm upwards using the 'pull-pad'. The camera head & light beam move into the working position. The doc cam is switched on automatically. The doc cam is activated to work in Autofocus & Autoiris.
- At the PROJECTOR MODE buttons, press COMPUTER to make sure the projector is receiving the correct laptop (source) signal.
- Next, press one of the PROJECTOR SOURCE buttons labeled DOCUMENT CAMERA located at the top right corner of the desk.
- Use the ZOOM wheel to adjust the camera field of view & press MAN focus to switch off the autofocus.
- After using the doc cam, pull the camera head down (with the blue pad). The camera will turn off automatically.
Using the VCR
As an optional feature, a VCR can be added to the system. You'll need to procure a VCR from the LRC at WRW 205.
- Locate the VCR/Auxiliary plate on the right hand side of the desk. Using RCA cables, connect the VCR to the plate.
- Next..at the PROJECTOR MODE buttons, press VIDEO to make sure the projector is receiving the VCR signal.
- When you are finished with the VCR, please unplug it from the desk and return the player to the LRC WRW 205.
Wrapping Up:
- Turn off the projector with the PROJECTOR OFF button (located top right corner of console).-- Press the OFF button once. Then you'll see a message " Power Off?" at the bottom left corner of the video screen. Press the OFF button again to completely shut off the projector.
