Students
Every Cockrell School of Engineering student or one taking an Engineering class may request 0.5 GB of network storage for personal information. Students are encouraged use this storage instead of storing files on your local hard drive because your hard drive is not backed up and should be considered temporary storage. >>
Student Organizations
Student Organizations within the Cockrell School of Engineering are eligible for 10 GB of file space. >>
Research
Research units are highly encouraged to store their data on the campus' Austin Disk service within the Cockrell School organizational hierarchy. >>
Large File Transfer
Temporary file space to facilitate large file transfers (5MB-1GB). >>
Backup and Restore Options
- File Restore - In the event of accidential or unexpected data loss for files stored on Austin Disk Services, there is a capability to restore to a previous version of that file or folder.
- Laptop and Tablet Backups - This service provides faculty and staff who use laptops or tablets a simple and automatic tool for backing up, synchronizing and restoring their files.
- Backups with Norton Ghost - The combination of Norton Ghost and an external USB drive provides an excellent user-managed solution for backups.
