Quotas
Quotas are used to limit the use of a computer resource from being consumed by any one user.
Disk Quota: The initial quota set on each faculty directory is 10 GB, and each staff quotas is 5 GB. You will be notified when you reach 85% and 95% of your quota and when you exceed your quota via an email message. If you are unable to save anything, you are most likely over quota and you will need to delete some files to bring your directory under quota again. Please contact the ITG Service Desk if you require more than 10 GB.
To check your folder size, highlight everything in your folder in the Windows Explorer window and select ALT-ENTER. You will see the total amount of space used in your folder. If its greater than 10 GB's, then the system wont let you save anything to your folder until you bring that down below 10 GB's.
Backup & Restore
The Cockrell School of Engineering File Server is backed up in case of catastrophic failure. In the event of accidental or unexpected data loss you can restore a file or folder that has been deleted or a previous version of a file that has become corrupt. Please see File Restore for details.
