To request file space for your organization, please complete this request form. Please include the UT EID's of those people in your group who need access. As officers and members change, please send a request to the Service Desk to update who can have access to your files.

- Open Internet Explorer
- From the File menu, select Open. If you are using Internet Explorer 7, press ALT to display the menu bar. You can display the menus permanently by clicking the Tools button and selecting Menu Bar.
- In the Open field, enter the following URL,
with your UT EID at the end of the line:

- When prompted for your user name and password, enter your UT EID and password.
- Click OK.
The disk share containing your files opens in "folder view" inside Internet Explorer. You can work with files in this view just as you would with a mapped drive. (For example, you can drag-and-drop files from one location to another.) - When you have finished working with your files, you must exit from your browser, closing all browser windows. That terminates the connection in a way that prevents other people from getting access to your files.

Mac
Webdav
- Go > Connect to Server
- Enter: https://webdav.austin.utexas.edu/engr/studentorgs/yourOrgName
Using Secure FTP (SFTP)
- Please consult the campus web pages on how to connect via Secure FTP by using the Fetch program.
- Once connected to get to your storage, navigate to: departmentaldirectories/engr/studentorgs/yourOrgName
> For more information please consult the campus web pages for Austin Disk.
Disk Quotas: 10 GB
If you reach your 10 GB quota, you will get an error message indicating that you do not have permissions to write or "disk is read only". You will need to remove files to get back within your quota.
To check your folder size, highlight everything under \\disk.austin.utexas.edu\root\engr\studentorgs\yourOrgName folder in the Windows Explorer (Ctrl-A) and then simultaneously press Alt-Enter. You will see the total amount of space used on the drive. If it's at or greater than 10 GB, then the system won't let you save anything until you bring that down below 10 GB.
Backup & Restore
The Austin Disk File Server is backed up in case of catastrophic failure. In the event of accidental or unexpected data loss you can restore a file or folder that has been deleted or a previous version of a file that has become corrupt. Please see File Restore for details.
