Support Our Students
Company support of our programs enhances the educational services and resources provided to engineering students, ensures a diverse student population through scholarships and further propels what our students can accomplish for the state, the nation and the world.
The Engineering Scholarship Program works with corporate sponsors and alumni to connect students with critical scholarships. These scholarships increase the quality and retention of students enrolled in the school and allow companies to make significant differences in the lives and careers of engineering students.
Engineering Student Life seeks to build community in the Cockrell School by providing real-world opportunities for students outside of the classroom that focus on leadership, teamwork, communications and ethics.
The Equal Opportunity in Engineering Program actively recruits and supports students from historically underrepresented populations in Texas and other students who contribute to diversity on our campus.
Through study abroad experiences organized by the International Engineering Education office, engineering students learn what it takes to be global leaders. Such experiences broaden a student's perspective, knowledge and awareness.
The Women in Engineering Program connects pre-college and college students to the creative and innovative field of engineering, showcasing how engineers make a world of difference. Through efforts to recruit, support and graduate female engineers, the number of women engineering students at the Cockrell School continues to grow.

The Cockrell School has numerous formal organized research units that coordinate and promote faculty and student research extending across and beyond the school. These units also provide and maintain specialized research facilities for faculty within a designated field that are usually available to external users.
The Cockrell School has identified priority interdisciplinary research areas for resource investment and faculty hiring that is inspired by major societal challenges that will require significant advances in technology and engineering.
The Office of Industry Engagement helps facilitate collaborative research between UT Austin researchers and their industry sponsors, with the goal of forging long-term relationships that promote the advancement of science and education.
The Office of Technology Commercialization is the engine charged with ensuring an efficient transfer of the university’s knowledge and discoveries into the marketplace for society’s use and benefit.
