The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at The University of Texas at Austin is a student organization dedicated to fostering an interest in the areas of aeronautics and astronautics and anything associated with these two broad and exciting categories. The national AIAA has over 40,000 members worldwide and is the largest professional society, principle voice, and information resource devoted to the progress of engineering and science in aviation and space.

Sigma Gamma Tau serves as the honor society for aerospace engineering students at The University of Texas at Austin. As an honor society, Sigma Gamma Tau is primarily a service organization for Aerospace education. Besides initiating new pledges each semester, Sigma Gamma Tau promotes academic excellence awards and tutoring in most undergraduate engineering courses. The student chapters participate in activities such as tutoring, peer-advising, and serving on academic committees. The society seeks to foster a high standard of ethics and professional practice and to create a spirit of loyalty and fellowship among its members.
