The Texas Kappa chapter of Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society, was established in 1931. The chapter serves several purposes: foster the high ideals of the engineering profession, stimulate interest and coordinate departmental activities, promote mutual professional welfare of its members, and develop in students of mechanical engineering the attributes necessary for effective leadership and the assumption of the responsibilities of a citizen in democracy.
