Partners
DTEACh has benefited from partnerships with a variety of organization during its first 15 years. Our current work would not be possible without the support of these organizations. If you are interested in learning more about how your organization can partner with DTEACh, please contact us.
National Instruments
National Instruments is a technology pioneer and leader in virtual instrumentation - a revolutionary concept that has changed the way engineers and scientists in industry, government and academia approach measurement and automation. Leveraging the PC and its related technologies, virtual instrumentation increases productivity and lowers costs through easy-to-integrate software, such as the NI LabVIEW graphical development environment, and modular hardware, such as PXI modules for data acquisition, instrument control and machine vision. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, NI has more than 3,400 employees and direct operations in approximately 40 countries. In 2004, the company sold products to more than 25,000 companies in 90 countries. For the past eight years, FORTUNE magazine named NI one of the 100 best companies to work for in America.
Boeing
Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined, with capabilities in rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Boeing employs more than 155,000 people in some 67 countries. More than 83,800 of Boeing employees hold college degrees--including nearly 29,000 advanced degrees--in virtually every business and technical field from approximately 2,800 colleges and universities worldwide.
The Texas High School Project
The Texas High School Project (THSP) is a $261 million public-private initiative committed to increasing graduation and college enrollment rates in every Texas community. The project is dedicated to ensuring that all Texas students leave high school prepared for college and career success in the 21st century economy. THSP is managing the statewide T-STEM (Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiative, a $71 million public/private partnership designed to improve instruction and academic performance in science- and math-related subjects at high schools across Texas.
Past Partners
The DTEACh professional development program was initially funded by a grant from the state Eisenhower Higher Education Program (1992-1993), and was sponsored through the summer of 1995 by Southwest Educational Development Laboratory's Strengthening Science Partnerships project (U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement, 1993-1995). Partial funding for 1995-1997 sessions was provided by a National Science Foundation Young Investigator Award, while the 1998 and 1999 institutes were funded by the RGK Foundation in cooperation with the Texas Engineering Foundation. Since 2000, DTEACh has been supported primarily by the National Instruments Foundation with additional funding from the Ford Motor Company, the GE Fund, and Boeing.
