Engineering Career Fairs

The Cockrell School holds engineering career fairs each academic year. These events offer excellent opportunities for students to meet with potential employers.

Spring Engineering Expo, hosted by the Engineering Career Assistance Center, is an opportunity for students and employers to speak informally about available positions.

Fall Engineering Expo, a student-run career fair hosted by the Student Engineering Council (SEC), is the first official event of the fall recruiting season. Employer registration information will be available in mid-April 2017.

Bioscience and Biotechnology Career Fair, organized by students and career services offices from the Cockrell School of Engineering and the College of Natural Sciences, provides an opportunity for employers in the biomedical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries. Employer registration information will be available in mid-September 2017.

Welcome to the 19th annual Spring Engineering Expo at The University of Texas at Austin!

The event is full and Employer Registration is closed.

If you wish to schedule Information Sessions or Campus Interviews in conjunction with your Spring Expo participation, please contact the ECAC recruiting team (hireutengineers@engr.utexas.edu, 512.471.7476) to discuss your recruiting options.

The cost of the fair is $400 per booth for up to 5 recruiters. Please purchase a second booth if there will be more than 5 attendees. Both continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Questions can be directed to Emma Esparza (512.471.7455) or Monica Choi (512.471.7456).

Itinerary

8:00-10:00 a.m.: Employers check in and set up booths; continental breakfast for recruiters

10:00 a.m.: Doors open and career fair begins

10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: Continuous career fair activity

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Lunch for recruiters (Fair will continue during lunch)

2:00-3:30 p.m.: Light afternoon refreshments for recruiters

4:00 p.m.: Career fair ends

Important Information

  • The Frank Erwin Center will not accept materials shipped directly to them.
  • All registered employers will receive shipping information to get booth equipment and materials to the event location.
  • The Frank Erwin Center has a policy against any food or candy. Please do not bring any food items as giveaways for students.
  • Payment for the fair is due by Friday, January 13, 2017. Your registration is not confirmed until payment is received.
  • If you have not done so, please make hotel reservations as soon as possible.
  • Recruiters should check in on the south side loading dock of the Frank Erwin Center, via the service entrance on the Interstate 35 southbound frontage road.

The Frank Erwin Center address is:

Limited parking is available in Parking Lot 108 on the south side of the Frank Erwin Center. Enter Lot 108 from the southbound Interstate 35 frontage road (a guard will be stationed at the entrance). Due to construction, there has been a significant reduction of parking spaces available.

If you have any materials to drop off, please use the Loading Dock south of the Frank Erwin Center. To park, proceed south on the frontage road to Parking Lot 108. From the parking lot, you will have easy access to enter through the south side loading dock of the Frank Erwin Center to the Employer Check-in area.

Lot 108 will fill up early. If Lot 108 is full, exit the lot and continue south on the Interstate 35 frontage road. Take a right onto 15th Street. Stay on 15th Street for two blocks then turn right onto Trinity Street. Take the next right into Health Center Garage (HCG). If the HCG is full, then continue on Trinity for three blocks, and before the light at MLK Blvd, take a right into Trinity Garage. Garage self-pay parking rates will apply.
