Recruiting Calendars

Employers may conduct interviews on campus during the spring or fall semesters. Preselect schedules can be scheduled up to one year in advance. See interview calendars for details.  Room reservation requests are processed on a first come, first served basis.

On-campus Interviews

ECAC hosts on-campus interviews each fall and spring for employers interested in hiring for full-time, summer internship or co-op positions. Employers have two options for on-campus interviewing: pre-select and room-only schedules.

Pre-select schedules allow you to take advantage of our online recruiting services for posting the job, receiving resumes, selecting candidates, and scheduling interviews. Room-only scheduling allows you to contact the students directly and schedule the interviews yourself.

Scheduling On-campus Interviews

On-campus interview dates can be reserved as early as one year in advance. Because interview dates fill up quickly, we suggest reserving your interview dates as early as possible. Reserve interview dates by contacting Denise Mendoza, Recruiting Coordinator, at (512) 471-7476 or email at hireutengineers@engr.utexas.edu.

There are no room charges or fees to participate in on-campus interviews.

Third party recruiters cannot participate in on-campus interviews. They are welcome to post jobs to our online job board, AccessUT.

Travel to ECAC

The following pdf documents provide information about Austin area hotels, ground transportation, maps and directions to the Engineering Career Assistance Center.

Information Sessions

Employers interested in increasing their visibility on campus and maximizing recruiting efforts are invited to host an information session.

Information sessions are on-campus presentations that employers give students the evening before interview dates. These events provide an opportunity for students to learn more about your organization and for you to increase your visibility on campus and gain name recognition among the students.

To make a request to host an information session, please log in to CSO Interfase, our online recruiting system, and complete the New Event Requet form in the Career Events section of the system.

There are no room or equipment charges to participate for information sessions arranged by ECAC. If employers want catering for information sessions, this needs to be ordered and paid for by the employer.

Career Fairs

Participating in career fairs helps build your presence and name recognition on campus, allows you to advertise future on-campus recruiting dates and events, and offers an opportunity to talk informally with students about the types of positions available within your organization.

The Cockrell School holds two career fairs each academic year. Fall Engineering Expo is a student-run career fair hosted by the Student Engineering Council. This career fair takes place in late September and is considered the first official event of the fall recruiting season. Spring Engineering Expo, hosted by the Engineering Career Assistance Center, takes place in early February. Employers are welcome to participate in either or both fairs.

Job Boards

Employers unable to participate in on-campus interviews, or who have positions they need to fill quickly, are welcome to post job descriptions to one or both of two user-friendly job boards used by Cockrell School students.

NACElink Job Board

The NACElink job board is available to registered users of the NACElink system. You may post a single-school posting for The University of Texas at Austin engineering students for free, or, for a fee, post to multiple universities.

AccessUT Job Board

AccessUT is a free service that allows employers and third-party recruiters to advertise full-time, part-time, co-op, and intern positions to more than 50,000 students and alumni of The University of Texas at Austin.

Posting Part-time and Special Projects

Employers have two options for advertising part-time and special projects to Cockrell School students, the AccessUT job board and the Hirealonghorn Job Bank.

AccessUT is a free service that allows employers and third-party recruiters to advertise full-time, part-time, co-op and intern positions to more than 50,000 students and alumni of The University of Texas at Austin.

The Hirealonghorn Job Bank is sponsored by Student Employment Referral Services in the university's Office of Student Financial Services.

The ECAC itself cannot advertise part-time, temporary positions, or special projects.

Hiring International Students

The University of Texas at Austin enrolls more than 4,500 international students each year. These students are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, but their education here, combined with their multicultural and multilingual skills, make them a potential asset to U.S. employers. The ECAC provides assistance to employers interested in hiring international students.
