     Purpose: (1) to bring together the UT Black Community to serve a common goal (studying and encouraging academic excellence); (2) to further raise awareness/importance of focusing on academics.  The agenda is as follows:

    = Course meets weekly (Thursday, 3:30-5:30pm)
    = Prerequisite: Must have completed 1 year at UT Austin
    = This seminar counts for 2 credit hours.
    = This seminar will be taken as a Pass/Fail Course.

    Dynamic speakers from diverse backgrounds will lead interactive sessions that stimulate thought provoking discussion and personal growth.  Sessions will introduce concepts that include (but are not limited to):
    = Building Confidence & Presence
    = Self Marketing & Promotion
    = How to Win Friends and Influence People
    = Emotional Intelligence
    = Working in and Leading Effective Teams

     UT Austin Campus
     - The     meeting will focus on education, energy/climate change, global health, peace, human rights, & poverty alleviation.
     - Attendees will be asked to make a Commitment to Action--a concrete pledge to make a difference w/in any of these 5 areas.
