As a leader in the National Society of Black Engineers and Pi Sigma Pi Engineering Academic Society I have acquired skills that have helped excel in school and have also helped me make an impact within our engineering community. I am also a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) Mentor, helping out first year students in their transition into the university. Some good advice for students and parents is to not let money stop you from attending college. The benefit of a college education is much greater than the cost. In due course, I plan to pursue a career in transportation, project management, or water resources. As I go through my career I plan to teach sometime in the distant future.

did not know anything about college before I attended MITE in 2003.
My MITE experience reaffirmed my enthusiasm to attend college and MITE is the main reason that I decided to major in
engineering. Much like my experience at MITE, my experience at
The
University of Texas at Austin has been challenging, enlightening, and fun.
