My best MITE experience was meeting the counselors, who in fact showed me that The University of Texas at Austin is a school full of great people. Every single counselor that we had was really awesome and a lot of fun. MITE influenced me to come to The University of Texas because it showed me how great the engineering program is and I saw how much the university focuses on the success of each student. MITE is a great program for prospective engineering students because it is a way to experience what The Cockrell School of Engineering is all about. You will start learning several skills that will be used in engineering classes everyday. At the moment, I am an officer of The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as well as a member of Pi Sigma Pi Engineering Academic Society and The National Society of Black Engineers. My ultimate career goal is to one day have my own engineering firm.
