MITE counselors are current engineering students at The University of Texas at Austin that will serve as advisors, mentors, chaperones, and role models to high school MITE participants.  This summer eight counselors will be hired to help inspire 100 high school students to apply to the university and become engineers.

Counselors will stay in the dorms with the participants and may attend summer classes.  Attendance is required during both sessions of MITE and training on Saturday, June 6, 2009.

Counselor applications will be online beginning March 9, 2009.

Counselor Application requirements:

Completed 24 hours at UT Austin by end of Spring 2009
2.0 or better cumulative GPA
Be a United States citizen or permanent resident
Be enrolled in an engineering degree plan
