Texas Research Experience
Application Requirements (2010-2011)
TREX students must:
- Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be enrolled in the Cockrell School of Engineering during Fall 2010 & Spring 2011
- Have completed at least 45 credit hours by Sept. 1, 2010 with AT LEAST 30 hours completed at UT Austin
- Receive an A or B in any/all of technical labs taken
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- Attend mandatory training prior to the first day of the Fall semester
- Enroll in a one hour course for both semesters (GE 027M) Wednesdays from 4-5PM
How do I apply?
**The application for participating in TREX 2010-2011 will open February 1, 2010**
- Complete an Online Application

Applicants will be notified of their decision via email during the summer. All selected participants are required to attend orientation in August 2010 (date TBA).

Helpful Hint:
TREX applicants are required to select a professor with whom they would like to work. Please review your engineering department's website to become familiar with engineering faculty members and their research. Placement with the professor of your choice is not guaranteed.
