First Year Interest Groups

Being part of a FIG gives you the chance to get off to a great start.  You take 2-4 courses with a group of 20-25 other first year students.  One of these courses is a small, one hour seminar so you get to know your FIG-mates. Led by Engineering Peer Leaders and EOE staff members, the seminar is designed to improve your study skills and strategies for academic success.  FIGs are a great way to:
  • Get great professors in one easy step
  • Learn about resources available to students
  • Connect with experienced students, faculty and staff
  • Find a study group and get to know people
  • Make a successful transition from high school to university learning
