YOUatUT

YOUatUT is a one day pre-college event for high school students (rising 9th-12th grade students) interested in exploring the different engineering fields that The University of Texas at Austin has to offer. Discover how engineering is a profitable and flexible career with unlimited possibilities such as working in medicine, law, research and a wide variety of other industries.

At YOUatUT, participants will explore how engineering benefits society and impacts the world through:

  • Engineering sessions (tours, presentations and activities) led by industry professionals, engineering faculty and/or graduate students
  • Interactive introductions to a variety of engineering areas and exciting career options
  • Creative engineering design and fun hands-on engineering projects

  • 8:30 AM — Participant Check-in
  • 9 AM — YOUatUT Family Welcome*
  • 10:15 AM — Engineering Design Challenge 1
  • 11 AM — Engineering Expedition
  • 12 PM — Career Conversations and Lunch
  • 1 PM — Visualization Lab and Engineering Student Panel
  • 3:15 PM — Engineering Design Challenge 2
  • 4:15 PM — Closing Remarks
  • 4:30 PM — Student Pick-up

* The 9-10:15 AM Family Welcome is optional for family members. Cockrell School of Engineering staff will be available to answer questions about admissions, housing, etc.

Program Cost

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $250 for each participant interested in attending. Lunch and one validated parking pass are included as part of the registration fee.
