We are no longer accepting applications for MITE counselor positions.  Students will be notified of their selection in early May.

MITE counselors are current undergraduate engineering students at The University of Texas at Austin that will serve as advisors, mentors, chaperones, and role models to high school MITE participants.  This summer eight counselors will be hired to help inspire 100 high school students to apply to the university and become engineers.

Counselors will stay in the dorms with the participants and may attend summer classes.  Attendance is required during both sessions of MITE and training on Saturday, June 6, 2009.

Benefits:

Pay range: Approximately $300 per week
Free room and board on campus during MITE

Counselor Application requirements:

Completed 24 hours at UT Austin by end of Spring 2009
2.0 or better cumulative GPA
Be a United States citizen or permanent resident
Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering degree plan
