Awards

Many awards are offered annually to recognize the outstanding work our faculty are doing both in teaching and research.

Recent Recognition

Four faculty members received Cockrell School Faculty Excellence Awards for teaching, research and engineering achievements:

  • Randy Machemehl, professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, received the Joe J. King Professional Engineering Achievement Award
  • C. Grant Willson, professor in the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering, received the Billy and Claude R. Hocott Distinguished Centennial Engineering Research Award
  • Carlos Torres-Verdin, professor in the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, received the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Award for Excellence in Engineering Teaching
  • Patricia Clayton, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching by an Assistant Professor
