Dr. Ranjit Gharpurey earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1995. He joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 2005.
Dr. Gharpurey studies the design of high-frequency analog circuits. He researches the design of architectures and circuits found in wireless systems, including transceivers and frequency synthesizers. He also studies parasitic noise and interference sources related to circuit activity, which can negatively affect the performance of mixed-signal and radio frequency circuits. His goal is to develop designs that are immune to such sources of degradation.
Research interests:
- High-frequency and high-speed circuit design
- Parasitic noise sources in integrated circuits
- Radio frequency integrated circuit design for wireless applications
