Dr. S.V. Sreenivasan earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University. He joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 1994.
Sreenivasan specializes in the area of high throughput nano-manufacturing processes as applied to terabit density magnetic storage, nanoelectronics, and photonic devices. His research interests include nano-scale mechanics and fluidics for nanoimprint lithography, design of nano-precision machines, and real-time sensing/diagnostics for nanomanufacturing. In February 2001, Dr. Sreenivasan co-founded Molecular Imprints, Inc., a company that commercializes nanolithography technology developed at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Sreenivasan has published over 100 technical articles and holds over 50 U.S. patents in the area of nanomanufacturing.
Research interests:
- Nano-resolution lithography
- Flexure-based micro- and nano-precision machines
- Precision optical systems
- Real-time nano-resolution optical sensor architectures
