Dr. Williamson investigates the dynamic response of structures subject to blast and impact, with an emphasis on modeling structural behavior near the onset of collapse. His work includes applications to modeling progressive structural collapse, stability of bridges during construction, design of bridges for blast loads, and simulation of bridge collapse following the fracture of a critical component.
Research Interests:
- Progressive Structural Collapse
- Blast-Resistant Structural Design
- Response of Structures Subjected to Impact Loads
- Structural Stability
