Committee Charge
The charge of the Academic Support Committee is to review matters pertinent to academic affairs of the School of Engineering (other than curricula and courses), particularly the Engineering Library, professional responsibility, and teaching effectiveness.
Tasks, Deliverables, and Schedule:
- Make recommendations as needed or requested regarding the operation of the Engineering Library;
- Implement recommendations pertaining to professional responsibility in the curriculum working with the Degrees and Courses Committee and the departments and make further recommendations as deemed necessary concerning education of students in the areas of engineering safety, engineering ethics, and engineering liability;
- Review proposals for Academic Development Funds submitted each Spring semester and select awardees for funding;
- Recommend speakers for teaching effectiveness luncheons to be held during the academic year;
- Make recommendations on any other matters pertinent to support of the School's academic programs; and
- Prepare reports to the Dean on matters as necessary throughout the year and submit a final report of activities no later than the end of the spring semester.
Membership:
One faculty member from each department will be appointed to serve on this committee. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will chair this committee.
