Committee Charge

The charge of the Degrees and Courses Committee is to review any matters pertinent to undergraduate degree programs and/or courses within the School and to make recommendations for changes to be made in the Cockrell School of Engineering section of the next academic Undergraduate Catalog.

Tasks, Deliverables, and Schedule:

  1. Review the results of the 2007-2008 Degrees and Courses Committee for any items that need further review and/or action;
  2. Consider items for action brought to the School by departments;
  3. Consider items relating to degrees and courses for action brought to the School by outside entities;
  4. Work with the departments to develop in the current academic year undergraduate curricula with approximately 124 semester credit hours;
  5. Review the Cockrell School of Engineering section of the current Undergraduate Catalog and make recommendations for specific revisions to the curriculum and to courses, as needed, for inclusion in the next academic catalog; and
  6. Prepare reports to the Dean of Engineering on matters as necessary throughout the year and submit a final report of activities no later than the end of the spring semester.

Membership:

One faculty member from each department and one undergraduate student will be appointed to serve on the committee.  The Chair will be designated by the Dean.
