Committee Charge
The charge of this committee is to review matters pertinent to the courses in the College of Natural Sciences required of all undergraduates in Engineering.
Tasks, Deliverables, and Schedule:
- Make recommendations as needed or requested regarding the offering of courses in the College of Natural Sciences required of all engineering undergraduate students;
- Make recommendations as needed or requested regarding the content, prerequisites, laboratories, workload, examinations and rigor of the courses identified in #1 above;
- Determine if a worthy candidate can be identified to receive the Friends of Alec Teaching Excellence Award. This award is given to a faculty member showing excellence and dedication in teaching an undergraduate course that engineering students take outside of the Cockrell School of Engineering; and
- Prepare reports to the Dean on matters as necessary throughout the year and submit a final report of activities no later than the end of the spring semester.
Membership:
At least one faculty member from each department and at least one undergraduate student will be appointed to serve on this committee. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs will serve as an ex-officio member. The Chair will be appointed by the Dean.
