From becoming a United States Air Force pilot to taking on research and development for a global company, check out the post-graduation plans of some of our most outstanding December 2012 graduates.

Daniel Asturia

Daniel Asturias

Degree: Aerospace Engineering/Engineering Honors

Post-graduation plans: I will be working for SpaceX, a company that designs, manufactures and launches rockets and spacecraft, during the spring. This fall, I plan to start graduate school, pursuing a Ph.D. in experimental fluid mechanics. I will use my education to contribute to the space industry and help make humanity a spacefaring civilization.

Payam Banazdeh

Payam Banazadeh

Degree: Aerospace Engineering

Post-graduation plans: I will be working as a systems engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory's state-of-the-art engineering facility, which is also known as Team X. After a year of gaining industry experience as a systems engineer at JPL, I plan to go back to school to receive my Ph.D. in aerospace engineering.

Lauren Bissey

Lauren Bissey

Degree: Chemical Engineering

Post-graduation plans: I will begin my career with Air Liquide in a two-year rotational program where I will have the opportunity to work at four locations in the United States in technical, operations and business roles. Air Liquide is a global company specializing in supplying gases to clients in various industries, including food and beverage, electronics and pharmaceuticals. The rotational program will allow me to quickly learn about the different sectors of the company while exploring a number of ways in which my recently earned degree can be applied.

Robert Erni

Robert C. Erni

Degree: Civil Engineering

Post-graduation plans: I will begin work with the Houston-based civil engineering firm Jones & Carter. I am joining their multi-family residential property team within their land development division. In my career, I hope to continue working with non-profit organizations and to become involved in public policy.

Amela Kamencic

Amela Kamencic

Degree: Civil Engineering

Post-graduation plans: I will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force on Dec. 21 through The University of Texas at Austin Air Force ROTC program. I will begin an intense 11-month pilot training program in February and hopefully earn my pilot wings. I’m looking forward to using my civil engineering degree toward the second half of my career in the Air Force.

Nicole Torres

Nicole Torres

Degree: Chemical Engineering

Post-graduation plans: I will be moving to Cincinnati to work for Procter & Gamble Co. in research and development of beauty products. After interning with P&G for three summers, I'm looking forward to putting my work experience and education to good use.
