The Faculty Innovation Center (FIC) is dedicated to maximizing the effectiveness of the Cockrell School's Academic, Research, and Outreach endeavors through communications and media expertise.
FIC Staff
The FIC provides high-quality instructional technology to support your teaching and reasearch. Our services include lecture capture, web conferencing, classroom response systems, 3D illustration and animation, video production, interactive simulations, and web applications.
History of the FIC
Mechanical Engineering professor Phil Schmidt is acknowledged as the founding father of the Faculty Innovation Center (FIC), which evolved from an earlier incarnation known as the Instructional Media Lab (IML). The IML's mission was to combine traditional engineering education with real-world engineering practice.
