Friends of Alec

Friends of Alec

Named after the Cockrell School of Engineering's mythical patron saint, Alexander Frederick Claire, the Friends of Alec Annual Giving Program was created in 1974 by members of the Engineering Advisory Board (EAB). Friends of Alec are UT Engineering alumni and friends dedicated to the advancement of engineering education at UT Austin. Gifts made through Friends of Alec are for college-wide use or may be designated to a department or program. See our designations page for more info.

Austin Area Businesses

During the summer, Friends of Alec callers solicit non-monetary donations from Austin Area Businesses. These outstanding gifts are used to provide incentive for our phonothon callers. We host nightly, monthly and semester competitions during the regular Fall and Spring calling sessions from which outstanding employees are awarded these great prizes. They provide rewards for jobs well done. In addition, it provides local companies an opportunity to give back to the Austin community. Please visit our list of the businesses who generously donated to Friends of Alec this year. >>
