Engineering quad with new building
The Cockrell School of Engineering aspires to be a global center that addresses the grand challenges of society. However, today, the Cockrell School is at a crossroads.
The University of Texas at Austin's engineering facility development has not kept pace with, and now lags, top peer schools. Historically, the school has achieved greatness by recruiting the best engineering faculty. This is becoming more difficult because the quality of facilities has fallen behind. The lack of modern learning facilities makes it difficult for the school to provide robust project-based learning.
This is where you can help.
Invest today in the first phase of the Cockrell School's Master Facilities Plan – the Engineering Education and Research Center (EERC). The EERC will be a locus of interdisciplinary interaction and an icon of engineering education. It will provide space for 'productive collisions' between faculty, staff, students and visitors.
