INTERNSHIPS ABROAD
What is an IAESTE internship?
An IAESTE Internship is a paid internship abroad. Positions are available in industry, research institutes, universities, consulting firms, labs, and other work environments. Most placements are for 8-12 weeks during the summer; longer placements of up to 12 months are also available. U.S. employers also host international IAESTE trainees for up to 18 months.
View the complete listing of some of the internships available through IAESTE for the summer session of 2003. You may also read about IAESTE Trainees in action and their experiences here.
Of course, there are always more applicants than the number of job offers available. By getting involved in IAESTE at UT, we can help to increase your chance of being placed. We might even be able to hand-pick an internship based on your wants (within reason). Please contact us for more information.
What are the participation requirements?
To participate in IAESTE United States Exchange Program you must:
- be a student in the field of Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural/Physical Sciences, Architecture, or Agricultural Science
- be enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university at the time of application
- have completed your undergraduate sophomore year
- be between the ages of 19 and 30
Are there scholarships available?
IAESTE offers three Robert M. Sprinkle $1000 scholarships for students applying to the program each year. The scholarships are awarded to students based on their academic merit and the quality of their essays, which are submitted with their job selections in February.
Where can I get the applications?
You may download the applications from the IAESTE US page or pick up a hardcopy at one of our meetings. Join our mailing list to stay informed of current IAESTE events within the UT campus. View the important dates for students.
