Aggregates: Asphalt Concrete, Portland Cement Concrete, Bases, and Fines

The 16th ICAR Symposium “Aggregates: Asphalt Concrete, Portland Cement Concrete, Bases and Fines” will be held at the Omni Austin Southpark Hotel, Austin, Texas, May 12-14, 2008. This year the symposium will be held in conjunction with the National Meeting on Aggregate Base Courses, to be co-sponsored by ICAR, along with industry and government agencies. Details will be published soon, but for your planning purposes, the symposium will begin with a reception Monday evening, May 12 and will terminate at noon on Wednesday, May 14. The Base Meeting will begin with lunch Wednesday and conclude about 5:00 PM, Thursday May 15th.

The ICAR/AFTRE Distinguished Researcher Award will be presented to D. Stephen Lane, Virginia Transportation Research Council, at the luncheon Tuesday, May 13.

Expect a comprehensive program addressing aggregates issues, just as in past symposia. In addition, we are very excited about this combined event which will be of great value to industry, DOT, and contractor personnel engaged in pavement design, construction, maintenance, and management.
