Web Downtime - 10-03-2010

<CSE IT Notice> Engineering web hosting downtime (2010.10.03)

 The Engineering web hosting environment will be migrated to offer an improved hardware environment on Sunday 10/3.  As a result of this migration process, the server will be unavailable beginning at 10 pm on 10/3.  All systems should be online by 6 am on 10/4.  This change should not affect web addresses or the way sites are published.

 The following web sites are affected and will display a maintenance page during this time:


In addition, the following web applications will be unavailable:

  • Bulk Email through
  • Survey on the Spot (
  • Any web application with a web address starting with


COMPLETED Unplanned Maintenance 9/15/2010

Maintenance has completed and all sites on should be up and running.

To address recent performance issues on the machine that hosts the server, ITS will be conducting unplanned maintenance this afternoon (9/15/2010) starting at 5:30 pm. The anticipated downtime is expected to be 15 minutes.  During this time, pages that rely on ColdFusion and the webhost's web publishing capabilities will be unavailable. back online

The server appears to be back online. Most of the sites on this server should be responding normally, but a few of the sites hosted on this server are still not functioning properly as a result of the issues we were experiencing earlier this week.  We are working to resolve those issues as soon as we can.
