About

One of the NANOLAB experiments is performed in place of an existing experiment for a particular department course, such as Che 264. In a given semester, students will generally participate in one experiment and this experiment is coordinated through the instructors for the courses.

Students work in teams of three or four on a given experiment.

The NANOLAB is supported by the National Science Foundation, the College of Natural Sciences, the Cockrell School of Engineering, and the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry and Biochemistry.

The participating departments in the Spring 2008 semester are Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry and Mechanical Engineering, and the corresponding courses are BME 251, ChE 264, Ch 154K and ME 136L, respectively.

The individual experiments were developed by Professors J. G. Ekerdt and B. A. Korgel with their students, Shawn Coffee, Andrew Heitsch, Michael Rasch, Navneet Salivati, Damon Smith, and Danielle Smith, in collaboration with William Lackowski.
