Dr. Nichols Named Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers

     Dr. Steven P. Nichols, mechanical engineering professor in the College of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin, has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers International. The honor is bestowed by the society on individuals who make noteworthy inventions, discoveries or advancements in the field of mechanical engineering.

     A 14- year veteran of UT, Nichols is director of the Design Projects Program, which matches students with industrial-sponsored projects, and is acting director of the Center for Electromechanics at UT’s J.J. Pickle Research Campus. His research interests include topics in engineering design and manufacturing, engineering professional responsibility, and electromechanical devices. Nichols is a registered professional engineer and an attorney.
