Texas Engineering held its position from the previous year as the No. 10 best graduate engineering program overall. Additionally, the Cockrell School’s aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, petroleum and environmental engineering graduate programs all ranked in the top 10, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings released today.
Notably, the school’s petroleum engineering program ranked No. 1 and the civil engineering program ranked No. 2.
More than 2,100 students are currently enrolled in the Cockrell School’s 13 graduate degree programs, where they work alongside world-renowned engineering faculty. The school’s 27 research centers and affiliated research units provide graduate students with the opportunities to focus on various high-demand areas that impact society and improve lives around the world.
Cockrell School graduate degree programs ranking in the top 10 this year are:
- Petroleum Engineering, No. 1
- Civil Engineering, No. 2
- Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering, No. 4
- Chemical Engineering, No. 7
- Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering, No. 7
- Electrical Engineering, No. 8
U.S. News & World Report’s engineering graduate program rankings are based on student acceptance rates, faculty/student ratios, research expenditures, reputation among engineers in industry and academia, the number of doctoral degrees produced, the percentage of faculty elected to membership in the National Academy of Engineering, and entrance exam scores.
