Vincent Holmberg in chemical engineering is one of two
graduate students at The University of Texas at Austin who will begin a five-year fellowship
in fall 2007 from the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation. The no-strings-attached
Foundation support is intended to provide fellows with the independence to conduct innovative research.

The Hertz Foundation announced the 2007 fellowship recipients at a
Foundation symposium in San Jose, Calif., in mid-March. The Foundation has provided the fellowships since 1963 to
graduate students at 36 U.S. educational institutions.
