Dr. Brian Korgel, professor of chemical
engineering, researches nanotechnology. Tiny,
colorful, brightly glowing silicon nanocrystal spheres (“quantum
dots”) that he makes could one day be utilized in applications
ranging from smallest-yet consumer electronics components to
advanced biomedical instrumentation.
