Emeritus professor's influence inspires chemical engineering alumni to give back

Dr. John J. McKetta will celebrate 61 years on campus and his 92nd birthday this fall, as the Chemical Engineering Department he has helped foster continues to flourish. McKetta's longstanding influence on his students over the years was highlighted at recent alumni gatherings in Houston, Austin and Dallas, held to promote the department's $10 million Alumni Endowed Excellence Fund campaign. McKetta’s contributions to the department, which have been critical to chemical engineering's growth, serve as an example of the role emeritus faculty play in connecting with alumni.
